Name: Veluna Moloth D'Ashland
Canon: A bit after the wedding.
Title: Gigolo Overlord (inherited title, Veluna isn't actually a gigolo...)
Background:
Inthe a Netherworld, there was once a powerful Overlord by the name of Aramis Moloth. He was a firm ruler, but in general he was actually a pretty cool guy. However, he had one problem... and that was keeping his libido under control. He had quite the number of children, from equally as many mothers from numerous races. But let's not speak any further of that, it's an uncomfortable issue for everybody.
But let it not be said that he was a poor father, he did treat them all rather well despite the eccentricities they each developed.
Veluna was one of these children, the product of Aramis and a succubus. However, she didn't seem to take to the succubi way at all, and seemed to like picking fights with her siblings. When she wasn't eating, anyway. Except for the few sibling rivalries, things were fairly calm in this Netherworld.
However, there was one that wanted to claim the throne for himself... Aramis' brother caught him at a poor moment, striking him down and assuming control.
But the eldest of Aramis' children would not let this come to pass. Janus Moloth united his brothers and sisters, leading them to battle against their uncle... but infighting erupted during the battle, some of them ending up incapacitated or even outright killed in the heat of battle via “friendly” fire. However, despite these complications, the uncle was quite wiped out by the efforts of his nephews and only conscious niece (there were only two daughters as they knew at the time).
As the battle adrenaline subsided, the dust settling, Janus looked over his standing siblings and realized something. What would come next... would be a battle for the throne. That he would be the main character of a spin-off Disgaea game that wasn't an official NIS product.
“No, I'm not doing this.”
Janus simply left. He headed for the Dimensional Gate and bought a nice house in a Tropico world instead. No, he didn't become El Presidente.
And now we come to Veluna, one of the side casualties... well, no, she didn't die, but her cockatrice half-brother, Mochavellis, had hit her with a cheap shot while she was busy fighting one of her uncle's minions. Saleese, her nekomata sister, had dragged her out of harms way after witnessing what had happened. When Veluna came to, she was in her castle (all of the siblings had their own castle). Saleese soon stopped by, apparently Mochavellis had already conquered her castle, and the nekomata offered to join forces.
Despite their personality differences (Saleese was rather calm, collected, and intelligent for a nekomata), the two sisters were fairly close. Probably the fact they were the only daughters as far as they knew helped a bit.
Saleese suggested that perhaps Veluna should start thinking of a plan of attack on Mochavellis, who they both agreed was the least likeable of their siblings. However, Veluna wasn't much of a planner... but even if she was, they would be interrupted by an outsider to the conflict: The succubus known as Megaera D'Ashland. It was a simple plot of turning Veluna's own minion against her with charm spells. Veluna singlehandedly defeated the plot with her ridiculous strength and combat prowess. Instead of striking down the interloper, however, Veluna took her as a vassal. Little did she know how much Megaera would change her life later on...
Just when Saleese thought they would be able to move on to Mochavellis, Veluna was suddenly stricken with hunger. A hunger for pot roast. And which of their siblings was most famous for that? Edward Moloth, their half-vampire brother. Veluna lead her team to the vampire's castle, destroying candles and trying to find pot roast... this pissed off their brother, who does the most swearing out of all characters in the game. He also sparkles for some reason when he's angry. However, he was beaten and forced to abandon his castle due to the Castlevania trope of his castle collapsing when the master is beaten. Yes, Veluna did manage to secure some pot roast.
Once again, Saleese wanted to go after Mochavellis now, but Veluna decided she wanted to fight her flame demon half-brother: Animak. He had sent some rather boastful, manly letters that made Veluna want to fight him. So she easily defeated him eight times, until finally deciding he was boring and ranted at him for a good few minutes that he'd lost and she's proven she's stronger. So he finally gave up.
Again, Saleese's want to go after Mochavellis was interrupted by another letter, from their zombie half-brother: Darryl. It wasn't a challenge this time, however, but an invitation to train. Something that Saleese actually approved of going after that time, though Veluna was pretty sure she could fight well enough. But it wasn't just any normal training, no. It helped teach Veluna the meaning of restraint and... well, it didn't really seem to do much good, and there was just a bunch of fighting in the end anyway. It wouldn't have been a proper Disgaea chapter without that much, right? Though, it was around this time that Veluna was feeling oddly close to Megaera, but she wasn't quite sure what to make of the feeling yet.
Saleese pointed out at this time that some shopping needed to be done... and somehow Veluna and Megaera were the ones send out for this. Veluna had been given the odd idea that maybe there'd be somebody to fight at the grocery store. Instead of that, however, Edward showed up at the castle and took over. He had no interested in the throne, but he was still pissed at what had happened to his own castle. At the time of confrontation, he activated his demonic second form transformation... not that 'demonic' means much in the Netherworld. Of course, in the end, he was def-no, not defeated, recruited. They didn't want to activate that Castlevania trope again.
Again, any ideas of going after the cockatrice were interrupted; this time by meddling angels, which prompted Veluna to take a trip the whole lot of them. It also turned out they had a third sister, who was one of the celestials... it seemed that Ex-Overlord Aramis' libido knew no bounds. Somehow she ended up recruited in the party. More importantly, though, the trials that Veluna and Megaera underwent are what finally made them realize their feelings for each other...
Which was sadly noted by a certain Overlord candidate by the name of Mochavellis, who kidnapped Megaera during a particularly vulnerable time. The time was finally at hand for Veluna and Mochavellis, perhaps the two strongest in the Netherworld, to finally clash... it was a fight Veluna had long been looking forward to... never mind the fact that Veluna had allowed herself to be distracted so much. But the cockatrice was not looking for a fair fight, no... he had an elaborate scheme that would allow him to easily snatch victory. Veluna would have to choose between the fight of her life, or the life of the one she loved.
And she chose Megaera. Surely Mochavellis had something planned that would doom them both, though? But it seemed Saleese had figured it out. Before Mochavellis could disappear to enact his grand finale... the nekomata killed him. How? Who can say... that wasn't important to Veluna and Megaera, and they weren't paying attention at the time.
Finally, there were no more siblings that wished to contend for the throne. Veluna inherited the title of... Gigolo Overlord? It seemed Aramis had customized his title, which unfortunately didn't snap back to the default when Veluna took it. But Veluna didn't care, she proposed to Megaera instead of dealing with a silly title.
The coronation ceremony isn't worth mentioning, but the wedding ceremony? It turned out some of Veluna's siblings thought she'd appreciate a good ol' brawl. Which Veluna did. Megaera surely didn't, though. Fighting in a wedding dress was kind of annoying for Veluna, though. Oh, yeah, Veluna's mother finally gets some screen-time here, too, and it soon becomes apparent that mother and daughter share very little in common other than their looks.
Personality:
Veluna is... something of a simple-minded and straightforward individual. At times, she even comes off as downright childish, though not in the 'spoiled' sense. She has no use for schemes or plots, she merely goes after what she wants head on. What does she want? Fights. She is a fight-hungry sort that is at her happiest when involved in a battle. It doesn't matter if she's using her fists, sword, or magic. The next best thing is eating something delicious.
Notably about her fight-hunger, she does not just initiate a fight right on the spot unless she has a good reason to. While Veluna may have done that in the past to whomever, she has become oddly disciplined in such a way that she'll ask the person she's interested in fighting first. If they say no, she'll sullenly accept their decision. She'll likely pout a bit, and she may ask them again later, but for the time being she won't bother them about it further.
Being simple-minded doesn't mean she is outright stupid, however. She can be perceptive and will voice surprising observations at times, so one can't get her with tricks that would work on those that can be accurately labeled 'stupid'.
As for those that Veluna cares about (Megaera, notably), Veluna is aggressively protective of. For Megaera, she's also very affectionate and glompy/huggy with. To a lesser extent, this applies to Saleese as well; of course, in a way suitable for close siblings.
Veluna does hate paperwork. Absolutely hates it. If she can, she'll get somebody else to do it for her. By default, she bothers Saleese to take care of such things.
For an Overlord and demon, Veluna is oddly cheerful and friendly-ish. By default she's not really antagonistic toward anybody, even those she'd want to get a fight out of. If she were to lose a fight (as long as it's not a fight to the death), she takes her loss rather well. Generally it's hard to upset her unless you do something like try to hurt her wife.
Evilities:
Succubus wings: Veluna's wings aren't always visible, but she can sprout them for flight fun.
Succubus powers: Veluna has the usual repetoire of Disgaea succubus abilities... she hardly ever uses them, though.
Strength: Veluna is ridiculously strong, she can punch a hole in a brick wall. Or throw somebody through five brick walls.
Overlord powers: Veluna has the usual repetoire of over the top magic that any self-respecting overlord would have, like blade beams and meteors, to throwing fits and destroying the world if she's defeated in a sequel when the party wasn't supposed to win that battle against her. Okay no, she's not ever going to do the last bit.
Martial arts, Way of the Rotting Fist: Yeah, Veluna's pretty good with this martial art style which is actually quite normal despite its strange name. Normal for Disgaea-type martial arts, anyway.
Inventory:
Mistalin: A large, magical sword. It looks rather unwieldy (though impressive), but Veluna handles it easily.
Wedding dress: A normal wedding dress, fitted for Veluna's figure.
Lots of Hel: Veluna is a post game overlord, after all.
Random Magic Items: After around Episode 4, Megaera started making a bunch of various magic items for Veluna. She may or may not remember the command words for using half of them. (Spoilers: She totally does, she just doesn't like using them because she thinks it takes some of the fun out of the fight.)
Wedding ring: She does have a wife, after all. It's actually a rather simple golden band.
